VoiceLedger Privacy Policy

We take your privacy seriously. VoiceLedger is a voice-based expense tracking application that helps you manage your personal finances through voice input and intelligent parsing. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your data remains secure.

1. Permissions Explanation

• Microphone Permission: Required for voice recording functionality. Used to record your expense descriptions which are then processed locally on your device. Voice recordings are only captured when you actively press the record button.
• Speech Recognition: Used to convert your voice input into text for expense parsing. All speech recognition is performed locally on your device using Apple's built-in speech recognition framework.
• Storage Permission: Used to save your expense records and audio files locally on your device. All data is stored in your device's local database using Core Data.

2. Data Collection and Use

VoiceLedger does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All your data remains on your device:

• Expense Records: Amount, category, type, date, and description are stored locally using Core Data
• Voice Recordings: Optional audio files of your voice input are saved locally on your device
• User Preferences: Settings such as selected currency (CNY, USD, EUR, GBP, JPY) and language preferences are stored locally
• No Cloud Sync: We do not sync your data to any cloud services or remote servers
• No Analytics: We do not collect usage statistics, crash reports, or any analytics data

3. Third-Party Services

VoiceLedger uses the following third-party services:

• Apple Speech Recognition: Uses Apple's on-device speech recognition framework to process voice input locally without sending data to external servers.
• Google Firebase: Used for crash reporting and performance monitoring to help us improve app stability and user experience. Firebase may collect the following anonymous technical information:
  • Device model and operating system version
  • App crash logs and stack traces
  • App performance metrics (launch time, network latency, etc.)
  • Anonymous app usage statistics

Important Note: Firebase does not collect your personal identity information, expense records, voice recordings, or any financial data. All collected data is anonymous and used solely for technical analysis and app improvement.

VoiceLedger does not integrate the following services:

• No advertising networks
• No user behavior tracking
• No social media integrations
• No cloud storage services (your data is stored locally only)

4. Local Data Processing

All data processing occurs locally on your device:

• Voice Recognition: Performed locally using Apple's Speech framework
• Expense Parsing: Natural language processing to extract amount, category, and type from your voice input is done entirely on-device
• Data Storage: All expense records are stored in your device's local Core Data database
• Full Control: You can view, edit, or delete any expense record at any time through the app interface

5. Data Security

Your data is protected by:

• iOS device-level encryption
• Local storage only - no data transmission over networks
• No account creation or authentication required
• Complete data isolation within the app sandbox

6. Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: View all your expense records anytime through the app
• Edit: Modify any expense record by long-pressing on it
• Delete: Remove individual records or clear all data
• Export: Your data remains on your device and can be backed up through iOS device backups

7. Children's Privacy

VoiceLedger does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app is designed for general audiences and does not require any personal information to function.

8. Privacy Policy Updates

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page and will take effect immediately. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically.
